Black Genius Fest: Architects of the Dream

This year marks the 100th anniversary of Black History Month. On February 28, 2026, Black Genius Fest: Architects of the Dream honors that milestone with a day recognizing our history while celebrating the community builders and young dreamers shaping what comes next. This year’s Fest takes place on West Parrish Street in Downtown Durham—the home of the historic Black Wall Street.

The Black SEL HUB has a featured exhibit, along with 20 other interactive exhibitions designed by local parents, artists, educators, and performers. Attendees of all ages can explore hands-on activities spanning science, wellness, poetry, and hip hop. The Fest also includes interactive dream worlds designed for exploration and discovery, wellness spaces for rest and reflection, and live performances.Free admission with registration at www.blackgeniusfest.com
