General Information
The summit will be held on September 25-27, 2024 at North Carolina Central University, Durham, North Carolina.
Waiting to ExSEL: “An Intergenerational Exploration Connecting the Past to the Present”
The summit is designed for industry professionals, thought leaders, and enthusiasts in the Black SEL Community. It is an excellent opportunity for networking, learning, and collaboration. College seniors with education majors will also be in attendance, specifically to get recruited for teaching positions in Urban Districts.
You should expect an immersive experience that includes panel discussions, roundtable discussions, breakout sessions, SEL downloadable resources and vendors, teacher recruitment, an awards gala, a community Block Party, and more!
This Summit has been created for Black organizations, as well as our allies. We particularly encourage Black educators dedicated to supporting Black communities to be in attendance.

Registration
You can register online through our official Black SEL Summit 24 webpage or by clicking this link – where you will be redirected to purchase your tickets.
The registration fee includes access to all sessions, workshops, networking events, awards gala, and block party. Meals will be provided during the summit. Attendees will also receive event materials and SEL resources exclusive to this year’s Black SEL Summit.
Yes, we offer the following discounted rates for group registrations:
- $525 for groups of 5 ($50 off per ticket) =$2,625
- $500 for groups of 10 ($75 off per ticket)= $5,000
- $475 for groups of 20 ($100 off per ticket)= $9,500

Purchase Order
We would like to be as flexible as possible, providing net 30 to net 45. Please make all purchase orders to Southern Vision Alliance, P.O. Summit Schedule & Sessions
Once you arrive at the Black SEL Summit, there will be a QR code at the registration table, as well as at your seat. Once you scan the QR code, you’ll be taken to the Summit 24 Agenda. This webpage will include details about keynote speaker, panel discussions, breakout session topics, times and locations.
Yes, attendees can select the sessions and workshops they wish to attend. Some sessions may have limited seating, so we recommend arriving early to secure a spot.
Absolutely! The summit includes multiple networking breaks, a welcome reception, and an opportunity to network during breakfast/lunch to facilitate connections among attendees.
Travel and Accommodation
Yes, we have partnered with several hotels near the event venue to offer special rates for our attendees. We currently recommend the Aloft Hotel and DoubleTree Hotel. Please visit the “Travel and Accommodation” section on our website for more information and booking details.
The event venue is approximately 15 miles from Raleigh-Durham International Airport. Attendees can take a taxi, ride-sharing service, or use public transportation to reach the venue.
If you would like to extend your reservations to include alternative nights, you can reach out to the hotel after setting up your initial reservation through the link. If any issues arise or the room block is sold out, please contact our event team at summit@blacksel.org.
Accessibility and Special Requirements
Yes, the venue is fully accessible. If you have any specific requirements or need assistance, please contact summit@blacksel.org in advance so we can ensure your needs are met.
Yes, we offer meal options that cater to various dietary restrictions. Please indicate any dietary needs during the registration process.
