Black August in the Park: Student Advocate Training + BBQ
Join Black SEL for Part 1 of our Black August in the Park Student Advocate Training!
New and returning Student Advocates will come together to learn, connect, and prepare for their upcoming community ambassador experience at Black August in the Park. Advocates will explore the significance of Black August and its connections to community, leadership, civic engagement, and collective action.
And we’re bringing the cookout with us! Following the postponement of our July Student Advocate BBQ, BBQ food will be provided during the training so Advocates can reconnect, build community, and enjoy time together while preparing for what’s ahead.
Please bring a blanket or lawn chair for our outdoor session.
RSVP is required. Registration closes Thursday, August 20 at 11:59 PM so our team can prepare an accurate amount of food and training materials for everyone attending.
Students in grades 7–12 who are current Student Advocates or interested in becoming involved with the Black SEL Student Advocate Program are welcome to RSVP.
