PANEL DISCUSSION
Black SEL & Allies: This panel will discuss what allyship looks like regarding SEL in Black spaces. More specifically, we will address how policy changes, funding shifts, and a dynamic socio-political environment interacts with stakeholders and community leaders that are allies of Black SEL. Black SEL is a network of dedicated black leaders and allies that understand the importance of Social-Emotional Learning and are committed to building systems that will sustain these practices in black communities. Social-Emotional Learning Definition (CASEL): SEL is the process through which all young people and adults acquire and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions.
Black SEL Members are first to receive exclusive access to Social Emotional Learning Resources. To watch the full panel discussion, join our Black SEL Summit Membership…it’s FREE!

Black SEL is about acknowledging the ways that SEL competencies have been present in black communities long before the designation or study of social-emotional learning.
