The Black SEL & The Future panel is focused on the implementation of SEL in Black spaces in the coming years and how to address issues concerning race and other social dynamics that impact the sector. Black SEL is a network of dedicated black leaders and allies that understand the importance of Social-Emotional Learning and are committed to building systems that will sustain these practices in black communities. Social-Emotional Learning Definition (CASEL): SEL is the process through which all young people and adults acquire and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions.
